Is your church interested in sending a short-term team to Costa Rica?

He is calling you! In fact, you’re just who He is looking for to serve His people. To fulfill God’s Word means to answer that call. You can do it. You can change the world. CFCI is all about transforming cities for Christ…we need you to join us!

What a privilege to be included in God’s desire to reach the world. He has chosen to use ordinary people to do extraordinary things for Him.

As a short-term missionary, you will have a chance to personally make an eternal difference in the lives of those without Christ. Whether you are sharing your testimony, participating in a drama, building a church, or visiting in homes, you will be an instrument in God’s plan to bring the good news of Jesus to those who need salvation.

How Does CFCI Help You?

Christ For the City International (CFCI) offers the opportunity of a lifetime, the chance to serve people in Christ-like love, to cross borders, to discover new friends, to learn new cultures, to speak new languages, to stretch your knowledge, to learn more about yourself, and to be personally involved.

CFCI also provides:

  • team leader and member manuals
  • pre-field orientation
  • coordination
  • translator(s)
  • in-country transportation, housing meals

What Will I do on the Team?

CFCI will coordinate your skills and interests with the national church and its needs. You will work and live each day alongside national Christians. You will be able to share your faith and encourage other believers. You may do evangelism on the streets, beaches, or in public parks. You may work with street kids, alcoholics, or drug abusers. You may participate in prayer walks, help a medical clinic or help build a church. The opportunities are varied and limitless.

Can Adults Go on Missions?

Although many short-term trips are promoted for youth, CFCI desires to provide adults with the opportunity to join multinational teams proclaiming the good news of Christ. We send adult teams, and multi-generational teams. Adults who participate as short-term missionaries in the midst of their busy, fast-paced lives bring tremendous benefits, skills, maturity, and spiritual gifts to the experiences. And, since the average trip lasts 8-14 days, it is often easily accommodated with work schedules. We need YOU!

What’s My Financial Obligation?

You will raise your own support through prayer and contacts with friends, family and/or your church. The amount varies for each country, but the cost will cover your expenses for in-country travel, food, lodging, training materials, etc. Information about fundraising will come with your training materials. Remember, God always supplies where He guides. Begin praying now for how your financial commitment will be met.

What Can I Expect on a STM Trip?

This is no vacation trip. As a short-term missionary you will be helping meet real needs in the field. Your ministry will make a tremendous difference in the lives of missionaries, pastors, and people of the national church.

Your short-term mission experience will also have lasting impact on your own life. As God works through you, you will discover that He has drawn you to new depths of intimacy and growth in your relationship with Him. You will find that your experience will continue to enrich your life and ministry long after you return home.

Are you interested in serving as a short-term individual in Costa Rica?

Life is fast pace and full of so many exciting things to do. It is easy to get so caught up in ourselves that we often forget about the world around us. Are you the type of person who wants to serve the Lord and do something meaningful to help others in need? Would you like to have a more in-depth look at how people live, work, and relate in another culture? If so, serving as a short-term individual with Christ for the City International in Costa Rica is just for you!

How Does CFCI help you?

  • coordination of what project you will be working with
  • in-country housing arrangements
  • orientation

What Will I Do?

This is determined by your gifts, talents, abilities, and desires, as well as what needs exist on the field. Some of the opportunities include:

  • Using your natural and spiritual gifts and abilities in tutoring, teaching, music, evangelism, and drama to reach the lost in Costa Rica.
  • Assisting with ministries to women and children in a refugee area near San José, Costa Rica.
  • Use medical training in a clinic and on medical outreach teams.
